CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

     The purpose of Christian Education is Spiritual Formation which is the activity of the Holy Spirit which molds our lives into the likeness of Jesus Christ, coming from deep intimacy with God which leads to genuine compassion for all of creation. 

HOSPITALITY & FELLOWSHIP
Susan Blaydes

     The Hospitality Ministry team is responsible for scheduling times of special fellowship among members. 

     On the first Sunday of every month, unless otherwise announced ahead of time, following the 10 am worship service, you are cordially invited to our First Sunday Lunch in Tartan Hall.  Meals are sometimes potluck and sometimes prepared by a ministry team, but they are always delicious!  In the case of a ministry team preparation, a $7.00 donation is requested to help defray our costs.  These lunches are a great way to enjoy wonderful food and fellowship with our church members.

 

SERVICE & MISSION

     The Service budget is used to carry out our Lord’s work for those people who struggle for the basics – food and shelter – and those who are in need of spiritual help. 

MEMBERSHIP AND CONGREGATIONAL CARE

      The Congregational Care and Membership Ministry team provides support in time of need for our   members and visitors. 

 

PROPERTY

The Property Committee has the responsibility of furnishing a place to worship our Lord Jesus, meet and greet in fellowship members and friends of the Church, and ensure it can be done in a safe environment worthy of its name. 

 PERSONNEL

     The Personnel Committee’s responsibilities include making job descriptions for each employee, making sure compensation is reviewed yearly for each staff member, recommends personnel policies to Session, encourages professional growth and development of all staff, provides for equal employment opportunities, reviews work with each employee at lease once a year, and acts as a support group for the pastor and other members of the staff.  The committee reports to the Session for approval on all decisions. 

 

BUSINESS AFFAIRS

      The Business Affairs Committee is responsible for collecting the money, counting the money, tabulating and recording the money received, depositing the money, accounting for the expense of the money, investing the money and then reporting back to the congregation the end result of all these actions. 

 

COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND EVANGELISM

     Community  Relations is the liaison between First Presbyterian Church and the Community.  The team is responsible for articles to be in the local newspaper publicizing church events, before and after the fact & keeping the web site.

 WORSHIP AND MUSIC
John Duncan

     The Worship & Music Committee provides the facilities and worship opportunities to honor God in all that we do.  Included are the services of a Pastor, Director of Music, Heritage Ringers, and Chancel Choir.
