Presbyterian Men

MISSION STATEMENT – To lead Presbyterian Men into a vital relationship with Jesus Christ and to assist in their spiritual, personal and community development.

            Items for discussion/decision -

Treas. Report: Account Balance at end-Nov. Is $ 274.68. Ten activities for the last 30 days.

Upcoming trips: Skip continuing to obtain info. on an abandoned mine at Fontana Lake. Spring  tour of the BMW plant in Greer, S.C. Planned (travel + tour about 8 hrs.). Jim is working with the Historical Museum on a Military Days presentation, part of D-Day, in Tartan Hall June 6-9.

Jim reported on an elevator installation. Asheville Elevator quoted $100,000. Also, looked into a 'handicapped chairlift' for $25,000. Placement of “shaft” discussed. Referred to Property MT.

Discussed pending replacement of Sanctuary double front doors, estimated cost $2,200. Door would be $1,800 + S&H. Fiberglass with wood grain was suggested (for approx. same cost).

Tom continued the Presbyterian history leading to “Reformation” starting in Scotland.

Sam closed the Men's meeting with prayer at 10:10 AM.

Cub Scouts : Meeting started by Chuck. Also present was Greg Hoard & Susie Williams, Den Leaders. He indicated that the Pack needs Monthly activities to maintain interest/involvement.

The FNCPM will sponsor the First Sunday Luncheon on March 4th at FPC as a fund raiser. The  Service & Mission MT is giving the $1 for Mission contributions to the Pack in March (approx. $300). Jim discussed recruiting at the Fall Festival in July. Also asked for Military memorabilia for the D-Day celebration in Tartan Hall on June 7, as well as Cub Scout participation.

Using the Church bus requires completion of a 'Tour Form' by BSA District. Administration & coordination of finances was discussed. Chuck will develop with Russ & Ernie.

Appreciation was expressed by Tom of Pack Leaders – Chuck, Melissa, Susie & Greg.

Chuck distributed the upcoming Pack 221 activities for the 1st Quarter of 2012 for discussion.

Mentioned change of meeting times each week from 6:30 to 7:00 PM. Will advise in February.

REMINDER – PACK meetings are on the LAST Thursday of each month.
