    WINTER STUDY OPPORTUNITY

When it’s not clear what is the right thing to do in a situation how do we respond?

When there are competing values in life to which value do we give the priority?

How do we live in the world when complicated situations do not lend themselves to simple easy answers and solutions?

These and other questions about the struggles we have as Christians to make healthy decisions and to live with integrity will be explored in a six week winter video study entitled, "When It’s Hard to Choose. On successive weeks we will look at Compassion, Respect for Differences, Responsibility, Truth-telling, Non-violence, and Connectedness. " In each video program an actor tells a number of stories that raise issues related to living out one of these values in the world. Then a well known Christian authority who is an author or teacher shares his or her reflections and own stories about the content of the actor’s presentation. The result is a stimulating and thought-provoking consideration of very basic matters with which we can all identify and all have opinions. Rev. Pope will guide the interactions of the group as they share thoughts and feelings about what they have seen in the video.

Similar to the recent Advent Study, this study will be offered at two different time periods: Wednesday evenings at 7:00 and Thursday afternoons at 1:00. Each session will last an hour and fifteen minutes and be held in the Fellowship Hall. (The session on Thursday, February 2 will be delayed to 2:00 because of the monthly meeting of the Sarah Circle).
